More Than Monetary Gifts
To me, Clergy appreciation isn't about monetary gifts and I have found that, over the years,
the loving acts of kindness are what touches them the most. This can also be helpful for those churches that are on very tight budgets.
Ideas For Pastor Appreciation Day
Our church has two clergy families. Starting this week, we will have the children make decorative cards 5x7 in size, with each one having a scriptural verse as the center focus.
Clergy Appreciation Day Children's Program
I will ask both clergy and their wives to sit in the first row, center seats on Pastor Appreciation Sunday. We will present each one of them with a album to hold. The children will, one at a time, read their biblical selection of praise, gratitude or thanksgiving (they will have 2 - one for each priest.)
After they have read their special
Pastor Appreciation Bible verse, they will give each of the clergy their hand made pastor appreciation card to put in their album. We plan to make it a memorable keep-sake filled with the children's tributes to the pastor.
I will have one of the older children conclude our appreciation event by having the children gather around them and ask the congregation to join in spontaneous prayer.
