Pastor Appreciation Day Problem

Pastor Appreciation Day, 2007

Our church wanted to go all out to let our Pastor know how much we appreciated his ministry with us, so we planned an awesome event.

First of all, we sent out a letter to all church attendees describing the event and asking for donations toward a appreciation gift for the Pastor and his wife.

How We Observed Pastor Appreciation Day

When the special day arrived, just as the service began, one lady stood up and asked if she could make an announcement. At that point, she announced to the Pastor and his wife that we were going to observe Pastor Appreciation Day and he could just sit down and enjoy the rest of the service.

We had asked several people to participate in this special time, and what an awesome time it was. We had worship time, special music, testimonies as to how his ministry had affected their lives, 3 laymen did mini-sermons.

At the close of the service, the Pastor and his wife were presented with gifts and flowers. Following the service, everyone joined together for a pot-luck luncheon.

Pastor Appreciation Day Response

Our Pastor and his wife were overwhelmed with the love that was shown to them that day and they said they would never forget it!

Our only problem is.....how do we top last year's pastor appreciation celebration this year?
