Celebrating Christ's Birth

Immanuel, Meaning God With Us!

“Behold, the virgin shall be with child, and shall give birth to a son. They shall call his name Immanuel;” which is, being interpreted, “God with us.” (Matthew 1:23 WEB)

I have discovered several spelling of that name which means "God with us". "Immanuel" and "Emmanuel" are both used, depending on the translation you find it in.

While either spelling is acceptable, even more important is that we recognize that Jesus is God with us in our journey of life.

"Oh My God" Should Be Our Response

I don't know who started the trend of saying "Oh My God!" as an expression of surprise or amazement. Most people saying it really don't mean it as a profession of personal faith. There have been times when I say back to the person expressing OMG "Wonderful! He's my God too".

Recently I was thinking about the amazing story of Christ's birth and concluded that was the most appropriate time to say "Oh My God!"

I then took action and came up with a T-shirt design that captured that amazing event -- the birth of Jesus -- and what Mary might have said.

Christmas Shirt Acknowledges Immanuel, God With Us!

Even Mary Said "Oh My God" at the Birth of Jesus!

And yes that is an affiliate link to a shirt I sell and if purchased, results in a commission to me.

That is how this website is funded and is also how I supplement my retirement income.

But that shirt is also a way to witness to others just what the true meaning of Christmas is all about.

Onward with Purpose,

Chaplain Paul Slater
