Creative Pastor Appreciation Ideas -- Motivation For Pastor Appreciation September 26, 2014 |
Motivation For Pastor AppreciationMore Than A Pat On the BackHave you ever asked yourself "What motivates my pastor appreciation efforts?". I am convinced that there has to be more to pastor appreciation month than just offering the pastor a "pat on the back". This edition of Pastor Appreciation Ideas is sponsored by Christian Author Jim Cochrum who writes about Success in Internet Business in his best selling book "Silent Sales Machine". To learn how you can fund your ministry efforts, click on the following link: Jim Cochrum's Silent Sales Machine Beyond Saying Thank YouYes, to express heartfelt appreciation is a key ingredient to honoring our pastors, yet there is so much more going on when we do so.Let me suggest a few of these deeper aspects of our pastor appreciation efforts: When we honor our pastor we lift the position of a God called ministry to those in our churches, with the desire that they too listen to the call of God in their lives. By expressing appreciation to our pastors we are demonstrating the fruit of the spirit as described in the Bible: But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. Against such things there is no law. (Galatians 5:22-23 NET) When we say "thank you, pastor" we identify our church as a people of gratitude and grace. Churches do have reputations for something, so why not make it something positive and inviting. So in all your efforts to express heartfelt appreciation to your pastor, think about the spiritual results you would like to see in the life of your community of faith. Then plan your event with an eye to these deeper aspects of pastor appreciation. Onward with appreciation Chaplain Paul Slater |
